The Boating program encourages water sports through providing instruction and renting watercraft. These activities may include sailing, motorized and self-powered boating, instruction and special events.

Camping areas provides patrons with a space to tent camp. Campsites may have electrical hookups. Site may include picnic table, fire ring (where permissible), potable water outlets, optional showers wash house, playgrounds, trails, or even a beach, depending on location.

Fishing provides physical, mental and societal benefits by connecting the participant to the outdoors which correlates with increased physical activity, general well-being, and the ability to focus. Fishing is mainly a seasonal program marketed through Marine Corps Installations websites which announce season openings, hours of operation, permit sales and areas where fishing is permitted. Outdoor Recreation Equipment Checkout Centers may have equipment available for rent and are located on Marine Corps Installations.

Outdoor recreation programs provide authorized patrons with outdoor recreational opportunities and instructional classes to support independent skills and provide a safe, healthy, fun environment for Marines and their families. The outdoor recreation equipment checkout & rental program rents a variety of equipment on a daily or weekly basis. This service is available to Marines, family members, retirees and DoD civilians.

Ordnance Point

With picnic tables, covered areas, BBQ grills, and a boat ramp, you can fish and have fun at Ordnance Point, rain or shine. Reservations are required for group functions. 252-466-2762.
