For Friday, Feb. 6, 2026 - the Commanding Officer of Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point has authorized nonessential personnel to arrive as late as 10 a.m. Personnel are advised to exercise extreme caution, using the extended arrival period as additional travel time to ensure their safety due to expected below-freezing temperatures and the risk of precipitation refreezing on bridges and roads.
MCCS will be adjusting operating hours for Friday, 6 February as follows:
- Non-Essential Personnel to report by 1000.
- CDC Facilities & Cherry Tree House: All three CDCs and the Cherry Tree House will open for drop-off at 0930.
- Troop Store & Package Store (MCX Gas Station): Opening for patrons at 0900.
- Barber Shops at the Troop Store and MCX will open at 0900.
- Library and Library Café will open at 1000.
- Devil Dog Gym & Hancock Fitness Center:
- 24-hour access remains available for active-duty service members.
- Staffed hours will begin at 1000.
- All other MCCS retail and food operations: Opening at their regular scheduled times.
- Personnel should reach out to their supervisors with any questions and continue to monitor the website, social media, and weather hotline for updates.
- Personnel in tenant organizations should follow the instructions of their respective command leadership.

Please look for special classes and programs that are offered in conjunction with our Monthly Health Observance. Commissary Tour, Train the Trainer, Barracks Cooking Classes are offered throughout the year and may also be requested.

Maintaining a proper diet is about way more than simply counting calories. This class teaches you about the nutrients your body requires and the different ways to get them. Understanding this is essential to maintaining a high energy level, staying healthy, and feeling good.
Injury Prevention

Human Performance Resources by CHAMP (HPRC) has released “Get into Fighting Weight: A Total Force Fitness Guide.” This guide will help providers and Military Service Members take an integrative approach to weight loss that is safe and sustainable. Designed with Military Service Members in mind, this guide will help them set their own goals to meet their service’s readiness standards. It is structured to prepare them to take on various challenges to improve aspects of health and performance that can impact their weight.

- Sleep tracker to see which habits help and which ones harm sleep.
- How to set realistic goals to achieve your fighting weight
- Relaxation strategies to help manage your stress and your weight
