Competitive Events is hosting the 2024 MCAS Iwakuni Tour de Flightline on Sunday, November 17! You will bike at the runway and along the roads of MCAS Iwakuni! The starting venue for this event is Penny Lake. Bonne Chance!

Competitive Race Information | 30km
Open to SOFA, MLC/IHA, JMSDF, and off-base local nationals | Ages 18 and older

Non-Competitive Race Information | 11km
Open to SOFA, MLC/IHA, and JMSDF | Ages 13 and older
Local Nationals are not able to compete in the non-competitive race.

Information
Race Expectations
  • Attendee’s Expected 30K Bike Time: Competitive only
  • You are expected to be able to bike 11 km in 30 minutes.
Awards
  • Awards will be given to the top 3 for each age category as well as overall Male and Female!
  • Receive a T-shirt and towel!
Precautions
  • Must wear a helmet during the race. Brightly colored clothing is highly recommended.
  • Please make sure that nothing does not fly/drop off during the race.
  • There will be 90-degree turns during the race, so please ride the bike carefully and adjust your speed as needed.
  • NO smart watches or phones are allowed to be used during this race. 
Parking Information
  • The designated parking areas for this event is the IronWorks South Side Gym (Bldg. 1010).
  • There will be no parking space available at any Penny Lake field area.
  • Parking on the side of the street along the Penny Lake fields is strictly prohibited.
  • You must bike to the Main venue Penny Lake 5.

Refund Information
  • In the event of inclement weather, natural disasters, or any other unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, the event will be canceled. Please note that refunds will not be issued.

Non-Competitive starts 15 seconds after Competitive starts.
